Default "Leafing Elf"

Hello All:
Here is Elf #7 Guess it isn't hard to figure out why I named him "Leafing Elf". He as with the other's measures the same 7" inches tall x 3" across.
Leafing Elf was finished using BLO and 50/50 Watco Dark and Neutral Wax. Also buffed with a horse-hair shoe brush.

I hope you enjoy him as much as I have enjoyed carving this little forest elf.
As always I appreciate hearing from you and your thoughts for improvement.
Kathy

Now there's a new twist to the many elves posted here - well done. The grain really stands out on this character.

Hi Kathy,

I agree with Patrick, the grain is beautiful and so is your elf. What kind of wood is it?

Patrick, Ron T, Sharon, Kenny, Merle, Forrest, Corey

Thank you, all for returning to see my 'Leafing Elf' and for your nice compliments and support.
This batch of basswood I got from Heinecke has a very strong grain of which is a first. Usually the grain isn't as strong as with these.
I just placed an order yesterday for more basswood from them I hope I luck out and get wood from the same run.
I've already today started elf #8 and yes, Merle 'Feather Elf' is next. You must have read my mind hope you didn't get a headache. lol
Thanks again, everyone
Kathy

Great elf, Kathy! I like the leafy beard. Almost makes him a Green Man.

If I had one suggestion, I'd start the curve of the nose bridge down to the brow sooner and dish it a little. Most people in profile show a concave curve between the nose and the brow.

I can hardly wait to see Feather Elf.
