Default Laughing Sea Captain

I have a young person in PEI who asked if I would carve her a Sea Captain style carving to assist her in raising funds to a trip to Quebec. I decided to try a Captain with a little more sense of humor so I hope she will be OK with it. The wood is birch and stands around 2 feet tall. The grain was a little lighter than usual. I sealed it with oil, sealer and dark satin wax. Enjoy.

Thanks Colin, Daniel, and Joe,
I'm glad you like his expression. Sometimes I find my faces look too drab so I wanted to give this guy a toothy laugh. First time trying this style of beard but I think it worked out OK. Appreciate you taking a look.

Whats not to like? It's a very well done carving and she should be thrilled with it!

Thanks for your kind words. I just spoke to the family of the young person and she is happy with the carving...so no more sea captains for a while.
