Default Lathart pictures that I've made....

A 'Canada Goose' and 'Woodland Visitors'. I made these two from plans that I found in a couple of magazines.....the names are listed in another thread.

Very Good Dull Knife. Did you use a light wash or a stain and did you color prior to finish assemply. It appears to me that you cut and assembled similar to inrarsa (sp). I saw some lath art years ago but it didn't compare to yours.

Thank you for the complements. Yes, I painted (regular cheap, Folk Art paints from Wally World) prior to assembly....have to, because you need to paint the edges of each piece...I have yet to any intarsia...have some plans, but it looks to be a lot more involved than lathart.

I'm working on a new piece of lathart right now....will put it on the web when I finish.

I enjoyed seeing these very much. I had a slight understanding of what lath art was, but now it is clear. Thanks for posting the images.

That is some really neat art! Thanks for sharing. My daughter and i have been wanting to come up with a sign for our booth at the farmers market. As I mentioned in the other post, our lath house kind of blows apart every winter and little pieces of lath go all over. Now I've got a idea for a sign using those little pieces of lath. Thankyou for the inspiration!Hopefully I,we, get it done by May when the market starts up again.
