Default Last commission of the year

Funny happens to me every year just when I think I am caught up and I am ready to retire the knifes and tools for the Christmas season, I get a phone call. This year a lady called sounded like she had been chasing me down she was so out of breath. She said "Please, please could you carve me a cane for my dad for Christmas?" Her dad was 85 years old and attends all her sons hockey games. He was having problems getting into the stands and was too proud to use a cane she told me. So he said if she could get him one that had a round ball on top he would use it but it was not to look like a walking cane. This is what I came up with she said that he had seen my tree carvings and always loved them. The cane is made from White Pine and of course I had to put a face into it that is what she wanted. She just picked it up today one day before Christmas. If this year is the same as usual I will get a few more phone calls today Christmas Eve wanting a carving it happens every single year. Thanks for looking and to all of you a very merry Christmas and holiday season and talk to you all in the new year.
Colin

Great work on that cane Colin! Looks like a very functional as well as comfortable handle. I'm sure the young fellow will get lots of good use out of it. Merry Christmas!

Looks just fine to me I was in about the same boat, last night I had someone contact me and ask if I had any canes with a fish topper on it with the mouth open. They were very lucky I did have one of a Black Bass with the mouth openand was able to put a staft on it that I had finished so I will deliver it this evening to her.Nothing like the last second ya know doesn't always work out that way but still nice to be contacted even last min.
