Default Large Tree Carving is finished

Well I have finally finished that large tree carving. I was going to put a staff or a sword in the hand but evidently the customer and the neighbor do not get along at all and he thought is might be a little confrontational. So I carved a lantern instead. I am have a really satisfied customer he is tickled pink with the final results. I was going to carve a bear into that back limb but I thought it really didnt go with the "Lord of the Rings" or "Harry Potter" type theme of the carving. Hindsite I think that maybe a raven on his head would have been better but too late now. I had to use the whole tree as this was what the customer wanted he didnt want me to trim the tree any more, so that was a bit of a challenge. The only problem is that the carving is on a high density street and is probably going to cause an accident with people slowing down to rubber neck.
I do value your comments and although I didnt use your suggestions in this carving I will always consider them next time. Thank you for viewing of course as usual constructive critisism is always welcome.
Colin

Colin,
Happy , I bet he was out staring at it all night , until he couldn't see then went back and got a flashlight !

Wonderful carving mate and well as far as being on the busy street , you just provided a new speed limit . should be great for all concerned.

Wonderful job!

Ash

Colin -- I thought and thought trying to come up with some criticism. Then I did !!!
That carving just doesn't make a perfect fit in that neighborhood. It would in MINE.
So the best thing to do would be to make those nice people a new carving and figure out a way to get the present caring to me. Huh? huh? huh?

Great idea with the lantern!
I can see where an armed woodspirit with an eagle on his head positioned betwix properties of rivals could be perseaved as confrontational. Very good alternative.
Wonderful sculpture Colin. That should bring in a lot more commissions for you with the traffic passing by.
Congrats.

Great piece of work my friend. It will reduce the traffic speed on the street and when word gets around, it will increase the volume!
