If you don't have access to a drill press, you can do the same thing using a hand held drill and an ordinary twist drill bit. Put a wrap of masking tape around the drill bit to mark the depth you don't want to exceed. Clamp the wood down to a work bench, and drill holes leaving a thin web between adjacent holes - and leave some extra wood along the edges as RV mentions. This will take longer than a Forsner bit in a drill press, but will work. Claude |
