Default Large Bushman

Went at another birch log this week fearing that the log is getting too dried out like the other one I just carved up. This guy was worst, and I almost gave up a couple of time when the wood came off in chunks. The oil went into the grain a few times like a sponge, and I'm hoping the sealer will keep the fibres from flaking. The sheen is partly due to him still drying and from the direct sunlight causing a glare. I tried putting some claws wrapped in leather for a different affect hanging on his jacket. I would take a different approach next time...but we learn with each carving I guess. He is over 5 feet in length. Hope you enjoy viewing him.
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

You did an excellent job carving this guy on a not so excellent piece of wood. I'm glad you were able to finish him and I'm glad to see you back here.
