Carved & painted this old country hound today. Hes 2 3/4 X 5 inches.

Im still leaving alot of areas square or flat, hope to improve on that.

great job Forrest!

wish i could get a little more of the artistic eye in my paint jobs,
guess im just an old barn painter because i hate the chore and only paint when it becomes necessary.

your painting shows creativeness and a great amount of forethought

Yea me too Thomp,Ive done alot of house painting when I was younger, didnt really like it! LOL Painting isnt a big problem to me its carving something in the round,Im use to relief carving where I carve out behind a subject and set back a few things in it to make it look round, alot easier! Thanks for your good thoughts Thomp. Forrest

I wasnt really happy with the stiching around on his over alls once I had painted them in. But I will leave them, thats one thing I hate is to repaint something. I dont have alot of time left to enjoy this carving in the round due too I have some relief carvings I need to get going on. Im glad you liked this old hound Gene and thanks for your nice thoughts! Your olde buddy,Forrest

I really like him also especially the way the arms on the hips look so natural and of course the paint job is excellent.
