I carved a "cedar chest" a couple of years a go...joke for a close friend. His wife was not very amused, he found out she was mad because she thought we had actually seen the "model" in real life....life, go figure... I like it!!! post some pics when finished??

I'm not sure how realistic you want to portray the corset. The bottom part that lays over the hips is less curved in real corsetry. If you follow the line of the figure's right hip (the left as we look at it) but look at the waist, it isn't possible to connect them. If you are going for a more abstract form, then mix it up a little more. PS my husband doesn't care that I see nudes for my work as long as I don't touch them. |

Thanks for your input jdomal. You're right about the corset at the hip point and I fully agree. At this point it's still an unfinished piece and the corset looks overly thick and shapeless. I do intend to portray the "bones" and creases caused by the thight material as in a more realistic approach. PS - My wife (of a 10 year marriage) is getting used to the idea that I have a fascination with female form. I've always been like that since I was at least 6 years old... and just like your husband, as long as other women are just 2D... |

Nice, it's one of the things I would like to do someday. When I got married, my wife didn't when I was looking at other nice women. She always said that it's not because I got married that I would stop loving women. But as she gold older, she began to bother more and more, because she began to see the other women as danger for her... Yeah, I should carve one like yours... Gilles |

I would leave the corset like it is. But I am bugged about the outside outline, perhaps it needs equal weight in your design....meaning you got more flesh on top then you do the bottom..... if it was me, I would cut down (on the smaller side breast) making a bigger V into the chest middle repeating the V in the pelvis but not so extreme. Then again I am not sure....hard to explain....and more hard to say what is what as I can not see the work like you can....
