there are almost as many knives available as Carter has Liver Pills! Best way to just buy one, is take a very large tranquillizer! Not sure how you would buy just one? I am constantly changing from one knife to another, I know you do need a larger rough in and a detail....maybe a 1 1/2 and a 3/4? Contact Rick at little shavers.... for best info www.littleshavers.com

I got a Denny from Rick, and have been very pleased after going from a pocketknife and an an X-acto. Then My mentor gave me a Murry. Both have been great for me. But the best knife is the one I don't cut myself with .... so I am still looking Snorkel heHe Ash |

Ash, Ha! It's that tough balance between so dull you can't even poke yourself and sharp as can be, so it cuts without forcing it! There's no safe place in between! Maybe if we hold the handle with both hands...Rick, want to make some two-handed knives...12" handle and 3/4" blade? Wade |

Ash, I've heard of those automatic beavers. They're called Laser cutters or CNC routers <grin> Bob |

I have 7-8 knives and my favorite two are my mid-sized Helvie and the one Rick made for me this spring. The only other one I'd buy is the one that stays sharp all the time! Knives come in all different sizes of blades and handles and it's important to find one that fits YOUR hand AND the kinds of carving you want to do. What I liked to use 5 years ago has changed because I carve totally differently now. Donna T

I can only echo whats been said here. I have about 30 knifes but the three that Rick at Little Shavers made me are by far my favourites, the others just sit in my tool box. If you want a good knife contact him one thing you will be sure of is that you will get a good knife as he only sells brand name and the other thing is when you recieve any tool from Rick you can bet it is scary sharp. I don't have any knives from Rick yet, sounds like I should be getting one. I like "scary sharp". I started with a ???? can't remember the brand, I know it's from Germany though. I bought a flexcut a couple of years ago and I love it. I use that and my Henry Taylor palm chisels. Chris.
