I was wondering if any one could give me the dates of the wood carving show in Kitchener Canada this summer. I'm not sure, but thnk it is sometime in September. I've heard it is really worth the effort to attend. Comments? |

Bill, Chipping Away has its own Website at www.chippingaway.com. Dennis has already posted a lot of information there! Bob |

I think the carving show you are asking about is the Chipping Away one and that is Sept 9 and 10th 2005. I just looked it up on my Pocket PC because I am thinking of going to it. Gene

The one in September is the "Internation Carvers Conference" run by "Chipping Away". This is strictly a carving show nothing else. It runs over three days with seminars and a whole lot more. The one this month is the Kitchener Wood show and although there are a lot of carvings it is not as big as the one in September. Colin

Not to disagree to much with Colin's assessment of the show this weekend, I must say for a Wildfowl carver it is the rehersal for the World Championships in Maryland at the end of April. If your carving places well in Kitchener, it will probably be a ribbon winner at the Ward Foundation show and well worth the drive to the show. It has all types of carvings and a wood show in the next building as well. The web site for entries is http://home.golden.net/~dprice/cnwcc.html Bob |

Sorry Bob as you know I'm not much of a bird carver. He is absolutly right Kitchener show next week end has a whole segment just directed to bird carvings. Last year I was amazed at the carvings there, they were hard to tell them from the real thing. Colin
