Default kill my mouse!

So this has nothing to do with mice! this is the 4th time I have tried to post this thread and i accidently keep hitting my laser mouse and lose everything! This is about spoons! I finished these recently. The first picture--top 2 are chinquapin and not carved with electricity.next one down is oak, found on the back of my sons pickup load of firewood, next is acaia, cut from my cousins place across the road from where we just moved from, the bottom 2 are tanoak from were we live now. the next picture is a wok utensil, from the same chinquapin on our property, the tree had died. I hogged them out with my arbortech pro carver on my angle grinder and refined them with my makita diegrinder and kutzall and double cut carbide burrs, used 2 cherries cabinet scrapers, then hand sanded, gave them about 8 coats of walnut oil and then soaked them in a double boiler of walnut, olive, and safflower oils with a small beeswax candle melted in it for 20 minutes.comments and critiques are welcome and thanks for looking. Please feel free to post pictures of your utensils here!

Sharon, I like them all but the grain on the wok tool is really something.

Are you about to get all moved in?

Hi Sharon,

Isn't that a pain when you're almost done typing and you lose it all. If I have a long post, I type in NotePad then copy and paste.

Great looking spoons and terrific finish. So warm looking.

Thankyou Wanda! I love the grain on the wok thing.Only part of the chinquapin had it like that. My daughter has a 1/2 cup scoop I carved out of it.She uses it for her brown rice.I hope I have more of it.Won't know until I cut or grind into it.---Yes we are about to get legally moved into here.Hopefully have our last inspection next week.We failed a couple of them the first time but passed the second round. Actually we have been living in the house for about a month now with very little moved inyet. Got the essentials-fringe,washer,dryer,working septic, propane,T.V., internet and get to use my scrollsaw in the spare bedroom for now. We're really not supposed to be in here yet.Getting some of my plants in the ground.

Hi Ron thankyou, I'm glad you like them.I'll have to figure out the copy and paste thing. Have you been carving anything lately? haven't had to much time to browse.Did the willow dry okay? I have some in our cargo container. It gets frying hot in there. Mine felt really dry, but I haven't checked them for cracks.Hope yours did fine, let me know.

Hi Sharon,

I just finished a carving out of Pecan, very hard, wood. He became a birthday gift.

The willows are dry and I've just been looking at them to see which stick topper goes with which stick. They're very nice sticks.

Thanks for asking.
