I wear them regularly when carving and I'm tough on them. So, I have a dozen or so gloves that have holes in them. I've repaired them with thread out of the sewing box--probably a polyester or cotton coat thread. I got another month or so out of each of them. But needless to say, they're in need of repair again. I'm not ready to write them off as of yet since the holes are easily repaired. My thought is to buy kevlar thread. I searched and it seems the fishing lure business uses natural kevlar thread. It looks like I can get a spool on-line for a couple of dollars plus shipping. Anybody seen kevlar thread in Wal-mart, Target, etc.--any large store that I can just drive over to rather than order on-line or through the mail? I'm wondering if a sports store that sells fishing lure making supplies would carry it. Thanks Bob L |

Bass Pro Shops have the kevlar thread, according to their online store. If you have any fly fishing shops in the area, give them a call - they might carry it. It's often used in tying fishing flies for use with fish that have sharp teeth. Claude |

Thanks Claude. Right now, it's what's quicker, easier and cheaper. Spending time and a higher price--2-3 dollars for a spool of thread plus 3 dollars gas going to the nearest fly fishing shop--10-15 miles--or just ordering a spool of thread at a cheaper price on-line for less than 2 dollars plus 5-6 dollars for shipping. That's why I was asking if anyone had seen it in a Wal-mart, Target, etc. Those stores are right around the corner. Bob L |

| Wow! I didn't know there was such a thing as kevlar thread...good to know because one of my gloves is getting pretty holy. I'll check around and see if I can find it! Thanks Bob & Claude! Leslie |

| Hi Bob! Check out the thread "Such a Deal" by Eddie-Smiles in general woodcarving. He says he got the "Bass Pro" fillet gloves (a pair) at a Bass Pro shop for half the price of the kevlars. Leslie |

Another quick search and I found out that Cabelas also carries kevlar thread. Claude |
