Default JUST A THOUGHT

Since its inception a few years ago, this BB has inspired a lot of carvers - many of whom were 'closet carvers' before joining the board. The messages here only substantiate what I have believed for a long time - All carvers are friendly!

I have never met a carver that was not willing to share whatever he/she knew about the art, and even the grumpy ones love to tell you what they know. Carving has so many diversities - caricature, birds, animals, etc. - that there is a subject for nearly anyone's interest.

Thanks to this BB and a great mag like WCI, all of you can reap and gain info for whatever your needs. Although I have carved for more than two decades, I still learn something new each time I check this board. Too bad we can't record all this into an encyclopedia.

My personal thanks to all who participate in sharing their knowlege of carving. Hopefully, this will instill some young'ns to try this rewarding art. We old sots are not going to be around forever and new talent is always welcome.

Now that I have finished ramblin' let me say that the ornament exchange is a fabulous idea. How can we expand this to get more carvers involved?
