Default juniper woodspirits

my wife picked up several good sized juniper branches from her work when a stop broke one down and i have gotten several good wood spirits out of it,not sure if i have posted these before if i did sorry.

Daddio,
Good looking sticks. How big around of a stick do you need to make a good walking stick like these. Do you let these dry for a period of time before carving and one last question. Can I use these a study guide to try to do one of these sticks.

thanks guys for the nice words, feel free to take it to the next level,if ya think they'll help you mark go ahead. these are really hanging pieces the branch is about 3" wide and 17" long then i rip them in half on the band saw so they are flat on the back and i put a hanger on the back.

but it's the same style face i do on my walking sticks just a lil larger.my walking sticks vary from 1" to 2" in diameter. the walking sticks are usually already dried these branches probably had been cut about a year before i carved them. hope this helped some thanks again for the nice words.
