Default Jayhawker pins

Carved a few JayHawk pins to give out to Jayhawks or jayhawkers as they are called. One is painted traditional colors and the colors are that of the KU Jayhawkers. However, Since the Jayhawker KU are copyrighted I did not put the KU insignia on it hense no problems selling them.

Funny though, My first one (painted)was better than the other three.

Hey Kenny, your Jayhawker pins are really cute whether painted or natural. I bet they would look nice with antiquing too.

Looks great Kenny! If you want a ceramic look spray them with a high gloss lacquer spray--4 coats about a half hour apart. Don't worry about runs and what not--I've have had great results on my bears.

THanks all.

Kathy, A jayhawker has to be painted for sure. Just not a Jayhawker with out the RED Head Yellow beak and feet and Blue body.
However, maybe and antiqueing would enhance the pin.

Bobl, Haven't tried the high gloss lacquer. Thanks for the tip.

Did have one KU fan that I gave a pin to, tell me that it "ain't a jayhawker without the KU on it". Hmmmmmmm. I was born and raised a Jayhawker(from Kansas) but I am not a Jayhawker(KU) fan. Now a Wildcat, Yep!
