That's a nice turkey. My son hunts turkeys too. Have to show him the picture of yours.Last Sept. I was picking huckleberries on our property and noticed purple color poop, wondered what left that.Knew something was eating berries besides me. started picking them on other side of property and noticed something out of the corner of my eye, it was a couple of turkeys. Tried to make turkey sounds. They looked at me like I was cracked and walked over to the neighbors property who is a vegetarian.
LOL.Guess they wondered who is this strange woman. Anyway nice looking bird!

Yea you are right Mr.Cliff,a old turkey is hard to find or call him up to you when you are hunting but Ive seen a big flock of them sit in a field near the road and they seem to wave at passing by'er in the cars.

Thks for viewing this carving and Im glad you enjoyed it, Thks again,Forrest

Carving a cal box lid isnt too big of a deal, you have to get the right thickest and correct measurements with the box and lid{paddle} woods you cut, thats alot harder than relief carving the lid. But with the beautiful boxes and other things you make,I bet you could make a turkey box call that would be really neat! Thanks again,Corey for all your good comments. Forrest

Corey with the boxes you make a box call should be a SNAP, for you.

Careful though with all the Turkey and Turkey Hunters around Council Bluffs and Omaha along the Missourri River, if you come up with a good one you might have a full time job..
