Default J. Price - Carving Small Characters

Hi everybody!
I'm not sure if it's the right place for this thread, but I think it won't belong anywhere else.
I thought about whittling small figures so I tried to find some interesting books about that and of course I've found "Carving Small Characters" by Jack Price. Everyone says it's really well-written, great for beginners etc. etc. The problem is It would be expensive for me to get (if the price is ~$12.95 it would cost me about ~$38).
I won't spend that money if I'm not sure what I'm really buying, so there's a question: is it possible to see somewhere few pages of that book (like in books.google.com)?

I'm sorry for my english, hope you'll understand

Don't know where you'd find an on-line view but I thought it was worth the $12.95 and then some. I don't know about $38 but it is a favorite of mine.

I think it is a well written book. There is a great section on carving a practice stick of a face. The only thing I do not like is all the photos are black and white.

Search the BOOK section of amazon.com for wood carving figures.

Lots of books, like this:
Amazon.com: Caricature Carving from Head to Toe: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide to Capturing Expression and Humor in Wood (9781565231214): Dave Stetson: Books
Be sure to "Click to LOOK INSIDE". The "Customer Reviews" are also useful.

Hope that helps.

Shoehorn,

That's another good book but not the one nutter was asking about. I checked Amazon & B&N and didn't see an option to look inside the book by Jack Price.

Nutter, have you tried Ebay? You wouldn't get to look at it first but you might get it a lot cheaper.
