| | ISO: A wooden doll to carve Hi, I'm looking for a pattern or a picture of a wooden jointed doll. I'd like to try carving one. I have this idea in my head that just wont leave me alone. LOL I've tried drawing it myself, but I'm not having much luck. The one I have in my head would be like a marionette (sp) type doll... but with out the strings. This doll would be positionable. Anyone know of a site, book or a picture to share? I'm hoping all I'd have to do is look at it to get a simular idea on paper. Thanks much, Marci |

I think Jean Lotz will probably give you quite a bit of info.--at least a starting point--depending on what you interested in doing. http://www.lotzdollpages.com/
Here's a link that might give you a starting point. Scroll down to Traudel von Rothardt. Click on the second picture next to her name, and you'll see what I mean. http://www.lotzdollpages.com/ldarttz.html
Another link on wooden doll making: http://www.lotzdollpages.com/mhtech.html
Good luck! |

| | Re: ISO: A wooden doll to carve Marci MN, if it's marionette's info you are looking for leave me a private message with your e-mail address.
I realize you don't want to make a marionette with strings but want a articulated doll. .

| | Re: ISO: A wooden doll to carve Marci, My daughter and granddaughter both collect Hitty dolls (all hand carved). There is a thriving market out there for the handcarved Hitty. Daughter makes clothes for the doll. If interested let me know in private message and I'll give you her e mail address. Keep us posted on your doll carving. Tom H |

| | Re: ISO: A wooden doll to carve Itty, Bitty and Hitty...there are all over the place.
Her's a site that provides a carving tutorial on Itty, Bitty or Hitty if you like. http://www.tcvdolls.com/
Go to "4" Dolls - Bittys", then "How to carve your own Bitty"
There is also a short tutorial on carving tiny heads from wooden beads on this site. .
