Colin,

First, thanks for saving that nice piece of wood from it's firey death! Like Ky_Whittler I too only have eastern red cedar to work with (which is certainly nice) but I'd sure like to sink a chisel into the white!

Secondly, thanks for telling us that these nice woodspirits were carved in a three and a half foot piece of wood because looking at the picture can be deceiving. At first glance I'd swear that it's a full size tree!

Very, very nice! Now you can just ship that one to Maryland. I have a wonderful spot right next to my lily pond where it-he-they can live happily ever after.
