Default Inkling

This is a new product coming out. If you use digital helper like Photoshop or Illustrator to develop drawings for your carving, like I do, this might be of interest. The price point is quite amazing. Wacom Inkling

There have been some "mixed" reviews. But I think that's some artists being fussy about the actual pen they use. My daughter is an illustrator and plans to get one. I'll let you guys know if it is all it promises to be. The thing that excites me is the vector part. So you might draw a less-than-clean line, but then you can tweak it on the computer to be a smooth, vector line or curve. I forgot to mention about the little demo video they have on the site.

Whew! That would be nice for tavelin' but $199.00 would also buy a whole lot of pencils and paper.

I know $199 seems like a lot, if you think of it as a replacement for pencil and paper, but in the world of digital pen tools, it's very reasonable. The advantage is being about to edit, resize, color, texture, work in layers, etc. All the advantages of digital art tools with the comfort and ease of paper and pencil. It really pays off if you use it all the time.

Looks exciting. Wouldn't surprise me if the vendor price is lower once it hits the stores.

"Digital Sketchbook." I could use that to reorganize pages. I like the Robert Bateman 6" x 9"
50-sheet books of 110lb paper. OK, so where are those pages of notes and sketches for the Humpback whale in the 14 sketchbooks that I've filled?????? With the coil binding, I can't fan the pages without skipping some.
