Default Information on a carver

Hi!
I have been asked to help search for info on a carving dated 1911, and signed by R. Eneho.....1911..
It's a pipe holder...a leprachaun under a mushroom, and the detail, I am told is quite striking. I should have
a picture of it soon. It as picked up at a yard sale in Washington State for $2. The current owner was offered $150 at an art gallery. He would really like a little more info. Any idea on where to look?
Thanks!!

Default Re: Information on a carver

Hi,
I cannot help much but have a few thoughts for you in case this posting is not productive. If this is well done for an item such as this in 1911, my hunch is this person was a professional that probably did more than one of these and probably also did pipes. Therefore, I would further venture that someone may recognize the name.
I vaguey remember a book on pipe carving but cannot find it. It may not be a bad idea to check with that author through the publisher to see if he can help as people will sometimes collect the things they also make. You could also send a posting to Chip Chats which will reach the entire membership of the National Woodcarver's Association. Have you tried to contact any pipe collecting organizations? Maybe others can fill in the gaps. Good luck.
