Default Indian Maiden /Bear Pin

About 10 or so years ago, while in a Antq shop,I saw this carving but it was carved out of lvory and I didnt buy it.Wish I had now.

A Native American maiden with a bear at the top. I looked through some of my scrap wood yesterday and found a thinner piece of wood, its Blackheart Sassafras, not too hard but not too soft.

Carved the carving Id seen years ago and used only stains to high light the carved areas. Mounted a pin on the back where my wife can wear it on a light coat or what every she likes.

Its 1 5/8 inches wide and 3 1/8 long.

Your thoughts are always welcome and I hope you like this pin.

Thks' Forrest

Forrest you Old Hillbilly! You're my hero! Here you've got all these other things on your mind and you can sit down and carve out such a beautiful little piece for the little lady! That's really pretty.

Eddy my wife is my hero and life time mate. She helps me in so many ways and is always there to love and support me and its hard on her at times but if I fell she would catch me.

Whats a little pin for her worth? To me its not much but she loves the ones Ive carved for her and this one is different, the bear in this carving is me always watching over her.

Thanks my ole carving buddy,we look at your bear all the time! I do when Im being a bear tearing through the ice box looking for sum-thang to eat~GRrrrrr

Your ole Tn friend,Forrest

Very nice Forrest. And you remembered that all from just something you looked at 10 yrs ago. I couldn't reproduce something I seen a few days ago. I'm sure your wife will treasure it as she does you. A soulmate is very hard to find in this world. Take care and good luck tomorrow at your visit.

Hey Forrest,

You took a beautiful piece of wood and made it even more beautiful! You wife is lucky to have you, and from the way I read you describing her over the past few years, you're a lucky man to have her. Nice how it works out that way. More power to you both, my friend, for a long & happy life together!

Your Mass friend,

Mark
