Default Ian Norbury

Mr Norbury paid us a visit by us I mean Woodcraft in Albuquerque.
I got to spend a few moments talking with him about his craft and home in England. Seems he is somewhat Isolated in the hill country of west England.
I guess we have it good those of us with ready access to shops and stores in general. He and his wife were he for about a week instructing on carving busts. I watched for a while I didnt want to seem to nosey but I did see where some of the guys and gals who were taking lessons had shocked me with there work. one person in particular who I have known for a while I consider my friend, had allways had trouble carving faces in greenmen the bust he was working on was fantastic If I hadn't seen him carving it I wouldnt have believed he had done it. Ian set the students up with a block of Bass about 12 inches by 6 by 6 on a vise so these were good size heads.
If you get the chance and have the money it is well worth the time to take his classes.

I am also an admirer of his work; wish I could have been in the class!
