Another excellent piece! Your birds are very well done. The carving is deftly done with a knowing hand. Texturing is spot on. And the painting is just great. The feather layout on both is handled very well, showing both separation and flow,delicate with the proper lines, yet cohesive and natural.
I also like the way you set the eyes. Critical on a bird.
And I especially like the way you have maintained poise with both of your pieces. You didn't forget the center of balance a bird must maintain while perched. Often times this is overlooked or ignored and the piece looses it's integrity with the bird just stuck on in some precarious position ,off balance, because the carver needed a perch of some sort that isn't natural or fitting for the rest of it's life.
All in all they show harmony, knowledge of the subject in anatomy , feather layout ,orientation and insertion, a keen eye and a talented hand.
