Carvers,(I am a novice)I'm torn between the 1/6 hp or the 1/3 hp rated motors in the Foredom carvers. With me have a champagne taste on a beer budget,I trying to convence myself to purchase the 1/6hp Foredom, but I don't want to cut myself short on hp.What I will be using it for is removing wood such as soft maple, walnut, cherry, etc using a 3/4 saburr burr. Will be shaping chair legs, rounding over corners to provide a smooth trainsistion.Making Queen Ann style legs which will need the soft touch of small bits as well to carver the ball & claw foot. With what I have listed my needs,do you think that I can get by using the 1/6hp since the 1/3hp is quiet abit more? What other brands is out there that I could also check into that is cable driven as the Foredom? Thanks CJ

CJ, you might want to re-post in the power carving or tool section. Also you can do a search . Dave |
