Default Hook Nose

Merry Christmas All:
Had some fun by carving this little 6" inches mountain type man. He is carved from some Butternut I bought two years ago. I finished it with some varnish gel, really nice to work with--wipe on, wipe off.
As always I appreciate your comments,
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

You did a nice job with this carving. How did you color his eyes?

Hi Carl, Cliff, RonT and Brian
Thank you, all for your nice compliments. I haven't carved a face in a while. In the area of the eye lids and fat pads under the eyes I had some chips come loose. This wood was very dry.
RonT I woodburned the eyes, unfortunately covered the natural wood area I wanted to leave for the highlight. So I mixed up some off-white, yellow ochre and a light touch of sky blue for the highlight.
Kathy
