Default Honey Stump Bear

This bear was carved in another piece of the scrap of knotty pine. I left the sides making a frame around him with the natural board finish. Im not all that thrilled about it,I will re sand and stain it,hope it looks better.

This carvings is 4 X 8 inches and painted with acrylic paints.

Your thoughts or comments are always welcome.

Thks' Forrest

P.S The reason I carve so many bears besides they are good sellers here in the mtns is,my wife claims alot of my bears and other works. Before I remarried and moved here,I didnt keep but just a few pieces of my art work. I use to come in from my shop and tell my now X wife, hey how do you like this?? With out dropping the paper she was reading, looks good is all she ever said.
My wife now,I've not carved or painted anything that she did praise me for doing a great job, so with her wanting alot of my work, shoot she can have what she wants!! She helps my ego plus supports me in anything I do.I dont need the money from shows but it helps me to live by being active.

Hello Forrest,

That's a great bear and the painting you did on the whole project is real nice. I wish I could complain about carving that well. I can see I'm a little late on wanting to offer him a home.

Sometimes we're our own worse critic. I know I am.

Keep on doing what you're doing.

Forrest, When I first looked at this bear, it thought it was much larger than 4 x 8 inches. I really like your bears, and I especially like this 4 x 8 one. I have several smaller relief carvings that are in this size range. I can just see this one displayed on a small little easel. or small plate stand. Excellent stuff you got goin here.

Ok, do NOT pay any attention to the ones above who want your bear!....you KNOW who wants it the most, and I am not above bribery of any form....LOL Seriously, my friend, this bear tugged at my heartstrings....his eyes pulled me to him immediately and this is probably my most favorite honey bear to date. (you are incredible with eyes) I have absolutely no idea why you were not satisfied with it (or was it the frame you were talking about). He has a somewhat wistfully sad exprssion and one can only wonder what he's thinking. I love him....Bonnie

Forrest, I might have asked this before--but you do eat and sleep, right?!?!? LOL

Once again--excellent work! You really are great at painting!

Bob L

(Nah--nothing personal but I don't want the bear. I carve teddy bears all the time. Besides, here in Jersey, the last thing you want around your house is a bear!! LOL)
