Default Homemade tools

Aye folks

One thing I have learned lately is NEVER GIVE YOUR SON A LONE OF YOUR TOOLS!!!!
I ended up having to make a couple of saws for cutting the green wood that I use for carving.. One is from an old Multi tool that I found lying in my workshop when I was tidying up the other day and the other is half a Hacksaw blade set in a sheep rib for a handle .
The Multitool saw's handle is made from scrap pine.
Thanks for lookin
Cheers
AL

Nice looking little saws, AL!

Safety note: AL very wisely made these so they cut on the "pull", not on the "push". If the blade gets stuck in the wood when "pull"-cutting, one's had slides off the handle - no danger. If the blade gets stuck in the wood when "push" cutting (think of ordinary handsaw), one's had slides up the handle and the fingers then experience the sharpness of the saw blade.

Great idea, AL! I've got a couple of Saws-all (sp) blades I may have to experiment with...

Thanks Claude
They work fine for the smaller branches that I use when carving.
Like the wee salt cellar and spoon that I have been asked to make for a friend.
Ive cut the blank for it now just got to hollow it out
Thanks again for looking
Cheers

Those saws are very nice! Here are some tools I made last winter.

I made this saw out of a scroll saw blade, I cutoff the blade then wound thread around it then painted it with glue.

These are all made out of old chainsaw files.

This one still needs it's handle made.
