Default HMS York 1680

Hi woodcarvers

I ´m new in this forum and I´m not realy a woodcarver, but I built sailing ship models in the way as the was 300 Years ago. On such models is a lot of wood carving and so I will show the decoration of my model York which I have constructed and built with all the leaf gilded parts.
If you will look the model take a look in my gallery.

To explain what means Schifferlbauer ,- it´s only in Viennese dialect the word for a model shipwright

Ach du lieber, die shiffen sind wundarbar!!!! I really hope I got that right mein freund. Your work is truly OUTSTANDING. It is magnificent in the grandest sense of the word. It must take an excrutiating amount of time and patience to complete those models with all that superb detail. That you say you are not a carver is so far from the truth it is bordering on ridiculous. Those miniature carvings, all gilded with leaf are extrodinary examples of a master carver's art. I am blown away and could not take in all of your work in one viewing. I will be going back often to marvel and drool over your pieces. Danke schon mein freund. Josef.

Now that is a ship model! Your work is amaizing, thank you for sharing it with us. I too build ship models, but your work is in a league far superior to my own.

It is great to have a fellow ship modeller with us here .
