I was excited to see the picture of the Hillbilly Reunion scene in the publishers article of the new WCI, and to see there wil be more on it next issue. I was a little less excited when I saw that my contribution is no longer in the scene when compared to the pic from the Dayton Show. I also see at least one other carving that is missing in the pic in the magazine. I am still happy that the project looks as good as it does, but I would be less than honest if I said my feelings weren't a little hurt. Would have been nice to have gotten an e-mail or something saying they didn't like my contribution instead of just getting rid of it. Congrats to the carvers whose work made the cut and went into this wonderful scene, it looks great and the level of effort from a lot of folks is to be congratulated and celebrated.

It takes about two weeks from now to get my magazine,.....but I find this very upsetting news. I would like someone to please explain why some people items were taken out of the scene. This was a group effort, that involved all us....not some. Not ok... by me.....at all. ,.,..how disappointing.

No one was intentionally left out of the scene! I thought we had everyone's pieces; I'm very sorry if we missed someone! Please let me know what pieces are missing, and I'll make sure they are in the scene! Best Regards, Bob Duncan Technical Editor |

Going over now to double check the boxes to figure out how I missed someone. I accept full responsibility for any pieces that were missed. Best Regards, Bob Duncan Technical Editor |

Hi Kent, I'm sorry for the confusion. Your two dogs are there, but because of the camera angle, they're difficult to see. If you look hard, right next to the jailbird, you can see the tip of the red/brown dog's nose. The other dog is beside the table next to the girl getting a drink out of the cooler. We struggled to get the right camera angle to get the majority of the scene in one shot. We're planning on running more extensive coverage of the project in our upcoming issue, but we wanted to make mention of it in the Spring Issue. I've double checked the scene based on the list Tom H. provided, and it looks like everything is there. The car engine, tub, and gardening tools are along the side of the house and are also not visible in this photo. Best Regards, Bob Duncan Technical Editor |

Thanks for checking, I appreciate the effort and am glad to know that all the pieces are there. It was just sort of a shock to feel that some were gone. Sorry if I seemed petty....just had a lot of time (almost two years I think) of anticipation built up.) I apologize for making a false accusation.....and BTW, the scene looks great...all involved deserve a big hand and a pat on the back, especially those who did more than just carve a piece, ie coordination, backgrounds, etc. A great end to a group project. |

I don't think it's petty at all! I'd be upset if I carved something for a project like this, and it was not included in the project! That's why it was so important for me to check to make sure everyone's pieces were on display! Bob |

I was glad to see the picture as well... I didn't see my contribution (outhouse) either but just assumed the picture isn't show it all... just like Slowmover if the item just didn't make the cut that's ok...hope it didn't get tossed or lost... just glad to see it finished. I look forward to seeing the article in the next issue.
