Several of us are trying to get the hillybilly reunion pieces back from Goody so that we can complete the project. I spent two days on the road to deliver the pieces to Goody last summer. Goody and a few others volunteered and were supposed to assemble and complete the project and get it to WCI. Needless to say, this did not happen, for a number of reasons. It is my hope that we can get the pieces back so that we can complete the effort.

Thanks Tom; Sorry if I came across a little flippity, but it had been a while. I doubt if there's anything that I can do to help (living so far away from the action) but if there is just give me a pm and I'll do my best.

When we got started on this project,... the main people had major health problems, then Goody has his business to run , I know him and Ann are busting their butts working everyday..., plus tons of other things happen, I knew this was going to take major time to complete. We will have to reorganize as I know lots of things have to be made to finish it up. The problem is that someone has to pick this up, like Goody said. Then if it gets to Ohio, Tom, you are going to need people to help you through the stages of completion which is no small task either. But honestly when we were at a stand still, I had over 30 to 40 people new wanting to help, plus I am not sure but we had about 30 working on it... I think we can get the people, just needs to be organized again and see what people are willing to do and not do....

Now I am starting to get ticked off. I have asked numerous times for someone to take over this project with no takers until recently when Tom and Sam have volunteered to finish. Ashby has been in the same boat I am trying to make ends meet without blowing our lifes savings. The other problem was the size that WCI wanted the project to be. There is just no way to make this project look good on the amount of real estate that was alloted. Ashby and I worked for three weekends before I got sick and cut lumber but just couldn't make it look balanced. Sams granddaughter is supposed to come the the shop and pick it up this weekend and take it to Sam. If It doesn't happen this weekend I am transporting to her in Dover next week.
If people would read the board closer you will see that there has been updates. I have to remove all stress from life before it shortens my life even more. I have slowed down considerable in life and on this board and will have no problem with breaking ties here as many have done in the past. I used to enjoy coming here and helping but don't anymore.A lot of us old timers have done a lot for this forum and have gotten tired of answering the same questions over and over but as has been stated " unfortunately it doesn't sell magazines". Whats not seen is how many blanks knives tools and wood that has been sent out to help beginners learn to carve or how many Fordoms have been fixed thru pms or over the phone Makes me wonder how many woodcarvers are on staff versus marketing degrees.

Goody everyone here knows what is happening, and you have been nothing but a wonderful person. Everyone here super knows all the hard work and support that you do. Plus the hundreds of things that you are doing, I have for one been more then grateful. Ever since your retirement....it has been non stop stress, and that is one thing you can not afford..... your taking care of your health will always be #1 importance. Please do not get angry with us, people just want to see this project get going....it has nothing to do with you at all. I figure it was going to be a nightmare to put together, and you said it. Who ever takes this project, is going to ask for tons help. Please Goody we do not want you to kill yourself for some stupid project, you are to valuable to the people on this board!! And I am darn sure this is how we all feel.....

Goody, want to say my piece also, you are a very good person, even to take on a project like this. I don't have to many dealings with you personaly, but I see all the help that you have given countless numbers of people on this forum. So I ask for you not to look down, on all the people of this wonderful forum, and of course look after your health , first. Please , don't even consider leaving this forum, because it would be a true loss for all of us. Take care of yourself, and hopefully we will here from you again.
