Default HillBilly Back Scratcher

I woke up during the night a few nights ago with this idea in my head.. got up and started working on it.

The lil fella will just set there in front of his outhouse waiting for you to use him on that horrible itch you just cant reach.

Now I've got alot of other ideas to use instead of a HillBilly... I need two more of me to carve them all up. LOL

I've got three of these ready for xmas presents next week.

Marci, Great idea, and well done too. But I always thought that the bag of corncobs in the outhouse was for something other than scratching your back. Tom H

Marci, I love it. I didn't know what to expect when I opened the picture, and it really made me smile. The recipients of the gifts will surely enjoy them very much.

Thank you.

We've had a backscratcher made from a corn cob for many years. Just a stick with the cob on the end. I LOVE that thing. Its better than 20 fingernails when it comes to getting that itch in the middle of your back gone.

I will brush the cob down with a stiff brush and then dip it into laquer to stiffen it up some. This way it can also be given a warm water cleaning now and then. Give it a light sanding to take the really sharp edges off and drill a hole for the stick and carving and put the two together.

But..as I'm getting older the hands are getting stiffer.. hence the carved character on top. He's a bit thicker to hold on to instead of the skinny stick.

This is made to be used... and it will once folks know how wonderful it works on those itches... specially mosquito bites that are just out of reach.
