Default Hey Dick T.--stolen Carving?

Am I reading that right?

It must have taken 12 guys to steal that carving! I agree--I hope more than one person dropped it on their foot!

Hey Guys

Sorry for the delay in response, my young lad Harry pesters me to get off the comp...

It was a shock to pull up in the morning to discover the loss, they went to a lot of trouble to get it! Through a field gate, across the field and through a fence and hedge just to get in the back of the park!
Still no news! No sign of Hide nor Hair!

Got some nice projects coming up in the new year!

Dick,

Very sorry to hear about the sculpture that was stolen. It was a wonderful piece, and probably acquired a nice little curse with it while being carried across that field.
Are you one of the "burning man festival" participants? That would be so interesting. I look at that web site (www.burningman.com) over and over wishing I could attend it just to see the pyro sculpture displays. Very awesome to see the wood sculpture on fire and the aftermath with the charred remains still looking so good in your carver gallery pictures.

Its something for everyone to watch for. A large carving like that will be very difficult to hide. My pun about this being a lot of bull is in poor taste, and I extend my apologies. I can only imagine the work and the expense in creating such a beautiful carving.

Dick I agree if you check my web site you will see under "Carvings For Sale" page a carving I had stolen from a show I was doing this year. This carving was about four feet tall and although it wasent oak it would take more than one person to steal it. I was set up on a beach so I think they came in by boat. I reported it to the local police and put it as "Stolen" on my web site just in case someone see's it somewhere. I know how you feel its like a violation sorry to hear about your loss.

Just wondering, will your house insurance cover a loss like that. I had items stolen out of my car, yrs back, and my house insurance covered the loss. It might be a possibility to look at. Also most bird carving shows have insurance to cover damage or loss. Just a thought

Hey Hugh

The carving was at the country park I work from, its all locked up at night, but its not the first theft or the last! There is a gypsy camp right next door, its only the new visitors that come, rob and move on!
You were right to say its a 'lot of bull' it certainly is! where ever it is!

I took it as a compliment!

I really enjoyed creating the 'Bull-Ox' it was 9 months from idea to fruition! and everything in between!

Dick, how terrible! I can't even imagine how it must feel to have that happen. I will never understand how someone can enjoy something they have stolen. I sure do hope both you and Colin get them back!! Deborah
