Every Memorial Day in the past has been kind of sad to me, as it seems no even knows what the "holiday" iis about and why we celebrate it. Thank you Merle for this thread!!

This Monday, as I have in years past I will have my small private ceremony to commune with the fallen, and this year I will tell them that some do remember and appreciate the sacrifice.

Thanks for the thoughtful post Merle and thanks to all fellow veterans. As we remember those fallen comrades may we also send up a prayer for those that are still bearing arms in foriegn lands.
