Thumbs up Help a Vet

Got to tell you about the VA. I recently had to make a visit to the local VA hospital. On my way to the hysical rehad unit, I seen a Vet in a wheel chair. I dont think I have to in why he was in that chair. Anyways he was carving!I couldn't believe it. Now I was there the otherday as well. Samething except now it was another Vet in a wheel chair. I finally stopped and asked the lady behind the counter about the carving. She said every tuesday they have a carver come over and help teach the art of this. I said well would you like a box or two of basswood that is either to small or just not quit a 100% for selling. She smiled and siad yes whatever I could do to help. So I went back and got my sawmill buddy to donate $200 worth of carving wood including what I will be donating. I guess sometimes we forget the real hero's! Being a former Marine I hope that if you get a chance help a Vet!

Semper Fi,
Former Marine and new carver

Good thinking.......for a "jarhead"! LOL Thanks, I am a bit far from our VA hospital and I only go there when I have an appointment, otherwise I would see about doing a class......I have thought about making up a bunch of canes and taking them over...you are right, we should all help the disabled vets!
