Default Help with Fan Carvings

For nearly 40 years I've made plenty of sawdust in my shop, but never any shavings from carving. My wife, Vickie, has offered to attempt to learn to carve fans to adorn some of my pieces of furniture. I'm really excited at the prospect, but need to find some educational materials such as magazine articles, carving book instructions, or perhaps best of all, videos on fan carving. Any help you can offer or suggest will be most appreciated. Thanks.

John

When I first saw your subject and it said Fan carving, I immediately thought you meant fan bird carving, but in reading I see you might be talking about shell carvings for furniture. Can you be a touch more specific, maybe we can help you a bit more.
