| | Re: Who has the Best Woodcarving Show?? Ron.....I love the Wichita show! The turnout was down but we have lots of friends up there so it's always a pleasure to attend.
We're just on our continuing quest for that "Golden" spot on the woodcarving show circuit! |

| | Re: Who has the Best Woodcarving Show?? Dayton Ohio ususally has a large turn out. I've never been, but Carolina Carver goes quite often. I have heard through others that it's a very nice show.
Here's a link to the upcoming event: http://www.daytoncarvers.com/aiw01.htm

| | Re: Who has the Best Woodcarving Show?? My favorite show has been in North Platte, Neb. I find that the people are great and everyone has a good time, as for sales I don't really know as I don't sell any of my pieces, I also like the other shows on the Front Range, Colo Springs, Denver, and Ft.Collins. We may try the the West Coast next year.

| | Re: Who has the Best Woodcarving Show?? Topeka Ks has a pretty good one as well as Tulsa,OK. Tulsa's show isn't as big as it once was but it is coming back up. Last years was better than the year before.
Rogers Ak is a fair one. Wasn't to bad but I was a little disappointed in it. Thought it would be bigger for some reason.
Like Ron, I missed the Wichita one due to sickness in family. Was wanting to meet you and Ron and to view your Mad Mulha up close as well as your other pieces.
Congratulation of your awards.
I forgot to post about the Ok City one, It ain't bad!

Entries for this year close on the 28th, this Friday but they will take online entries. You must send photos and have your work accepted, it is not an automatic entry. Costs $20. Prize money is $1000 BOS. 1st $250, 2nd $150, 3rd $75. Then there are many Donated Awards in amounts of $500 and other stuff.
Carving classes include:

You do have to compete with fine furniture etc. for BOS though.
The show itself is in June. http://www.sdfair.com/entry

| | Re: Who has the Best Woodcarving Show?? Dave, How far is Mesa Az from you?
I Worked with a guy from there that said it was a real nice one. However, he wasn't a wood carver but was a woodworker. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
