Ok then, have you tried the 50/50 alcohol/water yet? I'd guess that the wood is extremely dry right on the very ends, and the wetting it down should help if that is the issue. L.P.

What is the 50-50 soak water/alcohol for wood? Is it meant to be a soak, or a spray, or just what. Thanks, Mr |

It's used as a spray - I use an old Windex bottle. For softer woods like Basswood, simply spritz and carve. For harder woods, spray it on and let it soak for several seconds - the depth that it penetrates depends on how hard the wood is.
