Default Hand Carved Walnut Base

A couple of weeks ago I was asked by a member of a local horse riding club if I would make a base for a horse sculpture that they were going to use as an annual youth award for their club.

The bronze sculpture was donated to the club as a memorial to a deceased member that was very active in their youth program.

Below are pictures of what I came up with. The base is made of black walnut 3 1/4" h x 8"w x 15" long. The finish is sprayed on lacquer.

I donated the base to their worthy cause.
The club is having a brass memorial plate made for the front of the base.

Thanks for looking.

that's very nice, Brian. I like black walnut and the intricate little brick design work, adds to the appeal.

Brian,The base really does a nice job of not only displaying the sculpture, but it compliments it very nicely. Together it is a beautiful peice.

Safe Carving and God Bless,

Definitely adds to the sculpture, well done Brian. Donating your work was also a nice gesture.

Thanks for the comments.

The club is going to award this to a different member each year. Each winner will have their name and date engraved on a brass plate and attached to the base. That is why there is no decoration between the corners.
