Default Habitat

Hi everyone,
I am a bird carver and am trying to buy a book on making habitat for my carvings, pine branches, leaves, etc. If anyone knows where I can buy such a book I'd really appreciate it. I tried most of the Taxidermy supply catalogs, and carvers supplies with no luck.
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me out.
Thanks again,
paulieboy23

You might look here at Fox Chappel.....
Power Carving Manual (Best of WCI) - Tools, Techniques, and 16 All-Time Favorite Projects

Maybe you could check with shannon or BobD here and ask if that might be what you are looking for.

I think there's a book by Bob Guge that includes habitat. I think it's "carving miniature wildfowl" or something like that. He's a real guru on habitat, as well as bird carving. And he has workshops regularly about making habitat. I took a class from him once and would love to go back. He's forgotten more than I'll ever know.

Wildfowl Carving magaine had an article this past month on making willow branches by Lori Corbett. (She's had good stuff here--and I think in WCI in the past.) It's really good, step-by-step, from start to finish. She's really good at all carving, finishing, and habitat.

Hope that helps!

PS: Go up to the "SEARCH" tab and type in "Making Habitat" and read many of the old postings. They cover lots of habitat issues that have been discussed in the past.
