Default Guide Elf

Hi All:

Here is 'Guide Elf', he is 7 Inches Tall x 3 Inches Across ear to ear. No brass brads on him as only the King gets the brass decoration. lol
Still learning how to carve these fun little people, no two ever seem to come out the same. Which is good.
The finish is BLO, Satin laquer, 50/50 Watco neutral and dark wax. Prior to applying the BLO I burn in the eyes, add an antique white highlights and some Clear Kote Crystal Glaze.
As always I appreciate your thoughts and comments.
Kathy

Hi Bill & Catbird:
Thank you, both for your nice compliments. I cannot take credit for the technique as it's Mark Gargac's technique I'm just trying to make it work for me as other's have done.

Thank you, for your nice compliment too, and yes I'm still learning. I think I'm improving I want to be able to be confident when carving eyes, noses and mouths on any human type carving.
