Default Greenville,Tn winners

My big PC locked up yesterdy and I had to use a 10 yrs old little PC I had,it took all day to get it on and on line. I just posted a nice long detailed post about the carvers show here but this old PC lost it all when I hit send it here!! GRrrrrrrrrrrrrr~
The show was held in a church that was build in 1780.one carver there was 87 yrs old,Gosh,he could carve!!! Didnt wear glasses either.
This will be short, There was 49 carvers there with 224 carving.
Divisons,Juvenlie{under 15 yrs old}
Novice
Intermediate
Open
Professional There was 12 judges there and 3 of them would judge each divsions on,Creativity,Workmanship,Details,Quality of Finish,Degree of Difficulty. The hightest score you could get was 50 per carving.
{The Best of Show}
Juvenile,a Horse
Novice,Indian bust
Intermediate,Trout fish
Open,my Mtn train plus 22 other ribbons and a ck for $150.00
Professional,a Cowboy kissing his girlfriend while his horse smelled the buttercup flowers he has behind his back for her.

I took 151 picts but with this old PC Im havent to use right now,I have no programs on it to adjust picts nor lighten them up. I took picts of every category here on our board,sorry cant post them.

Theses were the best people that put on this show,Ive met in my life,course I told jokes and stories and it was such a wonderfull wk end for all of us. All the Evergreene wood carvers and thier families,Id like to thank you for making me feel right at home there. Being at a church,I preached WIC on line and alot said,they would become members here.

Hope you enjoy just seeing some of the carving from such a talented bunch of men and ladies from the Greeneville,Tn. The Picts are best of show winners at the Greeneville,Tn.

Forrest

P.S The walnut plaque I won,was the important thing to me,coming from my home state of Tn,it meant alot to me.there was a carved evergreen tree where Greeneville Tn is. Im more at the tip of the state.

P.S.S Why do we go to carver shows?? To encourage our fellow carvers to improve thier skills. To share our talents and creations with other carvers and the public. The main reason is to preserve and advance woodcarvings. Ive got alot of my trying at my carvings to get going on but 1st I have a list of honey do's that Ive not done now for 3 yrs,my wife has drawn the line and I have to get them done---NOW!!

Congratulations to all the winners at the Greenville show......and most of all to my carving buddy and friend....Forrest!!! Way to go, my friend! Even going up a classification to open from intermediate, that mountain train scene proved it's worth, and is a testament to your talents, along with the other 22 ribbons you won. I am so happy for you! Bonnie

Bonnie,my good buddy,Im not a bragger if you knew me or met me in person which you know. I had everyone there laughn which is good!! People took me in like I was a member of thier carving club and the home cooking banquet dinner,ohhh my goodness it was good!!

This is bragging ok?? In one months time,Ive came from a Novice to a best of show of Intermediate to a best of show Open. BUtttttttttttt now comes the real hard part,living up to this! I have my work cut out for me in different shows like in NC and other areas now. But like I always state,all I do is try and now I must try harder.
Taken off carving for a few days and Mrs has alot of undone honey do's I have to start on soon.

My best friend,I thank you for your nice comments here plus your belive in me. Your ck is in the mail!!!! LOL

Thanks again so much Bonnie.

The old man himself,.Forrest

P.S when I walked up to get the ck,I said,"Honey heres your money" They roared!
