Goodmorning Gang,
I attended our local woodcarvers meeting last night I am ashamed to say this is their third meeting and the first one I have attended I just get too busy sometimes. They are doing a cane carving and I am way behind now. Back to what I wanted to share with you. I have just purchased a Fordum power carver and took it with me to get some pointers as I have never used a power carver before. One of the guys showed me an idea that I thought was fabulous. To hold his power carver he had taken an old 12 gauge shot gun cleaning kit and mounted a C clamp on the bottom rod. On the top he had the attatchment for the wad he clamps the C clamp to the workbench and then hangs the power carver from the wad attatchment. What a great idea this way it is portable he just disassembles it and packs it in his tool box.
Just thought I would share that with the powercarvers out there I thought it was just the cats a... opps (whiskers)
Colin
Colin, Ain't it great to see how innovative people are? I bolted conduit to a c-clamp and placed a smaller section inside and drilled holes thru the two and then used some plumbing fixtures and put a square board at the top with chain couplings and I have room for the foredom and the dremel and it slides up and down as I need different height for different workspace.
I think I may have mentioned it before but, the guys at Menards don't come and ask me if they can help me anymore cause I told one of them that I wasn't sure what I wanted and I was using it for a reason than it was otherwise intended. Of course his mind was in the gutter, not the workshop!!
