Default granddaughter finished

Hi all, I was just thinking how nice it would be to know what you were doing from start to finish of a carving, then you could just relax and carve. lol Maybe someone like Fred Coglow would know that feeling. but then againd maybe he still has some hard times but he knows how to get out of them eaiser.
Well I finally finished my granddaughter I did need a little assistance from a more experienced carver in my club ,after I messed up the mouth. He has been tutering me when I get in a jam on this realistic carving and I'm sure glad he is in our club ( Carl Borst ) By the time I carve the whole family I should be getting better.
The carving is 12x8x2" I used a light mixture of 1/2" burnt umber to 1 cup odderles min. spirits for the stain and then 2 coats of feed& wax. I really wanted to do a work in progress ran into to many road blocks. comments always welcome.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

I think that is a fine carving. Fred Cogelow is a hard act to follow, but keep with it. Again that is a good piece of work.
