Hi Folks, I am heading to Grand Forks, North Dakota next week for a workshop and wouldn't mind checking out carving tools and supplies while I am there. Any suggestions? Brent |

Gosh, I moved to Iowa from that area, and I don't recall any woodcarving tool shops, but perhaps that has changed. I do know that L&M Meats has the best buffalo summer sausage around, and the Bronze Boot the best steaks. What class are you taking?

| I'm attending "The Strategic Approach to Social Media". Obviously work related as opposed to carving. Grand Forks is a two hour drive from home (Winnipeg) and many folks from here regularly go on shopping excursions. I am going to have to check out the places you suggested. I know where the Bronze Boot is but where is L&M Meats? Brent |

I started carving in Grand Forks (well, GFAFB) in 1989. Long time ago so I can't say a thing about current shopping. Back then I bought everything by mail - we sure didn't have computers then. But I loved GF and loved North Dakota.

There are two of the meat markets. One just south of the Boot and the other on Washington, but the south end. Just ask, anyone can direct you. I get alot of my supplies from the Woodcraft Shop in Bettendorf, Iowa. The people are very helpful, and I am sure Larry and Carol can set you up with whatever you need. I think there is a fairly active club in Bismarck, who knows..maybe one in Grand Forks too, or Fargo. That would not be too far to go to take a class or two. Rick Jensen, the bark carver is from Crookston, just outside of Grand Forks, to the Minnesota side. Have fun at your seminar, and I agree with Nancy---I love North Dakota!
