James,
Love the carving of the fishing godess really a fine carving. What was her most prominent feature LOL . We can see by the carving you probably wouldnt recognize her face if you saw her again. LOL

Default I feel like a kid here...

'cuz I've only been married 18 years!
Spent a few hours carving on a Santa today, had a friend come over and we visited while carving. Think I may dig out some paints, seems my family went to the mall without me, so I've got some more quiet time.

Well, here goes.........tell your age Gibbs...... in May, we will be married 53 years......... You know the vows.. for better or for worse... It's been a long road with good and bad, but we thank the Good Lord for giving us a long life. Curtis has put his dog in the trash... lol He had it almost finished and had a neat Beagle, but got off the beaten path and it all of a sudden turned out like the Egyptian Thingie that is out there in the desert, only it has a dog head.. lol what thu? Boo Hoo

Congrats to all you old married folk. We are coming up on 10 years in Aug but we started late.
As for carving I took the kids to the beach saturday and while they played in the sand I carved a wood spirt in a piece of driftwood I found. Looked ok for something carved on the fly with a Swiss Army Knife while I kept an eye on the kids too. Don

Wow, thanks for all the congratulations and congratulations right back to everyone who's celebrating or about to! Looks like we have more in common than a love for carving!! And you're right Kris, having someone to share this aging thing with does make it better. I'm so glad hubby and I have made it though all the hard times and haven't given up.
Thanks also Kris, for the compliments on my carvings and no, I don't have an airbrush, all the painting is by hand with acrylics.
James, I checked out your 'Fishing Goddess', pretty cute, bet she was a huge hit with your friends! And Charlotte, how awful your beagle didn't turn out how Curtis wanted it to, I can understand his frustration, I certainly was with this Irish Setter. It's still not perfect but sure is better than it was!
Thanks again everyone and 'Congratulations!' Callynne

Congratulations to all of you and special congrats to my Friends Art (the bark guy) and his sainted wife Dorothy. Hehe It takes a special mate to keep up with us woodcarvers. I carve along because of a really super guy who fed and supported my habit for so long. :-*
