Default Gone fishin'

Well, everyone seemed to like my deer so I thought I would see what you thought about fish. He/she is carved from Tupelo gum and all but the dorsal fin are carved separately and inserted. Mary painted it with oils as usual and I mounted it on a stump made out of Basswood. The mud lake bottom is nothing but Bondo poured onto the Walnut base.

Beautifully done, Doug! I really like the paint.......looks real, and not garrish, at all.

I realize that wasn't a very good pic so here is another fish with a better view. Made of Tupelo Gum and as before the fins are inserted and it is painted with oils.
