Default GNOMES

I'm looking for a book or a source for patterns on Gnomes. I'm just a beginner so I'm looking for something that isn't to hard.
Thanks in advance....

Here is a terrific reference for you:

The Complete Gnomes text by Wil Huygen and illustrated by Rien Poortvliet
Harry N. Abrams, Inc., Publishers, NY,NY; printed in Germany; 1994

This is a combination of 2 books, Gnomes and Secrets of the Gnomes.
It is a large color book that is a fairy tale type book with stories about Gnomes. It is loaded with ideas for carvings. Maybe your library can get it for you. It is 414 pages. I am not sure if it is still in print. Try Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com on line for out of print books.

You either like Tom Wolfe or you don't (not much in between), but I'm carving my 2nd gnome from his book right now and have always liked his style when looking for a caricature carving. I wouldn't look to his stuff for life-like, but I haven't seen many gnomes is real either!

I vote for Tom Wolfe -- good pictures and directions (in my opinion), and the basic directions for gnomes, Santas etc work well for lots of characters. I like his style.

I started carving with the Keith Randich books on Little Guys, but I think the Jack Price book is better.
