Default giraffe walking stick

Depending on your sense of timing (or maybe that's MY sense of timing), this is either an early Chrsitmas present or a late birthday present for my wife. Basswood (two pieces, to shift grain orientation) with acrylics and glass eyes. He's about 5' tall, and even got a "hoof" painted at the bottom!

Hi Merle,

Thanks! To be honest, I saw something similar (but without the eyes, and more of a cartoon look) at the Brevard Zoo in Florida when I was there last Spring. My wife loved the idea, so...

I appreciate your looking, and comments.

Thanks Tom. We were about to take it out for a shakedown hike yesterday but ended up with a change in plans.

Nice job on the giraffe! I did a cane with a giraffe handle a few years ago and the lady is still getting compliments on it. They are rather unusual... the animal as well as the cane. Mine can be seen on my website <www.cedarstump.us> under woodcarvings, then canes.
